Hi Guys!

Whenever I try to compile a 2.6 guest kernel, I get a compilation error:

linux-2.6.9]$ cat ../uml-2.6.9-bs7.patch.bz2 | bzip2 -d | patch -p1
linux-2.6.9]$ make ARCH=um xconfig
linux-2.6.9]$ make ARCH=um
  CC init/version.o
  LD init/built-in.o
  LD .tmp_vmlinux1
arch/um/kernel/built-in.o(.text+0x23c8): In function `mem_init':
: undefined reference to `phys_page'
arch/um/kernel/built-in.o(.init.text+0x203): In function `kmap_init':
: undefined reference to `pte_offset'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
  KSYM .tmp_kallsyms1.S
nm: '.tmp_vmlinux1': No such file
  AS .tmp_kallsyms1.o
  LD .tmp_vmlinux2

What am I doing wrong?
Help greatly appreciated!

2.6.11 (stock from kernel.org) was the first version to work for me out of the
box. You might want to try that.

Rob

Thank you; this did the job. Enabling the ubd0 block device gave me a bootable
image, finally :-)
