I'm currently on a small vaccation so I'm quite limited in Internett
connection and alike. I come across a kernel-bug in 2.4.x and 2.6.x
kernels and wondered if the same problemes occures inside UML. Could
somebody just take a small peek?

Simple compile the small program that is in the report on the gcc bugzilla
system and run it inside UML and see if runs or freezes the UML.

I've just tried it in linux-2.4.24-um1 and it does not freeze anything.
The program prints dots and stars here and there.

uml:~# uname -a
Linux uml 2.4.24-1um #46 Thu May 6 13:54:24 GMT 2004 i686 unknown

uml:~# /mnt/home/vinsz/tmp/bug

Thanks people. If the world was perfect the code should run forever
without problems, but floating point exception is better than machine
freeze as happens outside UML on all machines tested except one by my
buddies.

Something is very wrong running that test, atleast when running on the
main host, and not inside UML. :-)

Well, about running without problems I disagree... the "floating point
exception" is the correct behaviour: since with UML on 2.6 it reports so and
on 2.4 there is no error message, we have a (little) bug, indeed, in Uml 2.4.

Links about why that is correct behaviour:
