[PATCH 14/18] HID-debug: Adjust two function calls together with a variable assignment

* The script "checkpatch.pl" pointed information out like the following.

  ERROR: do not use assignment in if condition

  Thus fix the affected source code places.

* Replace the specification of a data structure by a pointer dereference
  to make the corresponding size determination a bit safer according to
  the Linux coding style convention.
