Hello,
I am getting the following failure when I call pci_p2pdma_add_resource() with a valid bar memory address range:
[65246.333251] Hotplug memory [0x202ffc000000-0x202ffdc00000] exceeds maximum addressable range [0x0-0xaffffffffff]
I see this failure in 6.8.0.51-generic and 6.8.0.54-generic. This was not an issue in earlier 6.8 and 5.15 kernels.
fwiw, I also get this failure with with 6.13.5-061305-generic.
Do you know what might be causing the schrinkage in the memory hot plug range? And is there a workaround for this?
Thank you,
Kit

The kernel detects your company violating the kernel licensing and to
go away. This is only half kidding, but the kernel mailing list is
not a place to ask question when your company treats kernel licensing
like this. You're on your own.

Hi Christoph,
Is the kernel licensing issue causing the shrinkage in hotplug memory range? Can you please provide some more info on how MaxLinear is violating kernel licensing and I can take it up with management?
Thanks
Kit

Your comany sells slimey solutions violating the kernels GPL licensing.
You shoul be ashamed in a corner and not ask kernel developers whos
license you violate for help. Go away!

Hi Christoph,
I will humbly tuck tail and go away but first... Can you (or anyone else in the know) please provide some details about how you determined we are in violation and which of our "slimey" products is violating the kernel GPL licensing? Terse statements about violations aren't very helpful.
I've spoken to management here and they are perplexed how we are in violation of kernel GPL licensing. Please, please shed some light for us and provide details about these rather serious charges.
Regards
Kit

Your company is selling solutions pulling in CDDL code (ZFS) into the
GPL licensed kernel. Don't do that, and don't ask for help with the
legal and technical mess you created.
