The length of the bytes being written got lost somewhere.

If 'offset' isn't a controlled value you don't want to add 4 to it.
OTOH skb->len is nice and safe.
So the original(ish) comparison:
return offset <= (int)skb->len - len;
avoids the '+' overflowing.
