how is the working of iptables (specially DNATing) different on a bridge interface than on a router interface?

If you want a bridge then bridge it, if you want NAT then NAT it.... but you want BOTH??
 
Bridge is like fusing 2 network cards together as if the firewall didn't exist.. but at some stage you want it to exist so why put a bridge?
