Yes.
Cheers,
Gavin.
P.S. If you send an obtuse question, you will get an obtuse answer.

Strawberry or vanilla?
What is your *question*?
What are you trying to *do*?
What is the *problem* you have?
If you don't tell us enough to know what you want, we can't tell you how to
achieve it.

Don't know ; it works for me, but..
I once had a problem patching the kernel which made me do a make menuconfig
(or make xconfig or make config, whatever). I configured nothing and saved
the "changes", after which patching worked.
Another solution could be the following ; I read somewhere sometime that you
might have to patch the kernel twice before some patch can be applied.
Maybe this helps ?..

What is missing???

Dear friends
I still try to find a way to use patch-o-matic features on my kernel (
2.4.18 ) ,when I run make patch-o-matic ,many patches say, applying patch
fail and I don't know why, I do the following steps :
make pending-patches
make most-of-pom
make patch-o-matic
< compiling the kernel>
make KERNEL_DIR
but many patches didn't apply .

Fellers corect me if I'm wrong, but the P-O-M features are not to be ALL
used simultaneously - it even says it during the patch process that some
patches break other patches...
SO
If you need the functionality found in a specific or a few patches - go
ahead and apply only those patches, otherwise you always seem to get
that _ out of _ failed chunks error...

Dear Sir,
Thanx for your help ,I just want to use iplimit and time matching, but I
can't apply them to my kernel.
Anyway I just want to apply pending-patches and most-of-pom that the
documents tell they don't have any confilict with each other. So I don't
know what kind of process i should follow.

Alireza

I have kernel 2.4.16 and iptables 1.2.5...
I tested your 2 pathces (limit and time) and they patched without any
errors on my system. I am not sure if there is an issue with your
kernel version or your iptables version...anybody?

Hello,
basically, all patches contained in pending/ submitted & base/ in p-o-m should apply without
conflict. Maybe you didn't follow the appropriate steps ?

Hi,
I really follow all the steps in the following howto, but patch-o-matic.
prompt
FAIL copy /usr/src/linux-2.4.18-5 and doesn't apply the patch (ip-limit) and
som other that I applied to kernel version 2.4.2.
When I checked my kernel directory I saw all the required files copied there
for example iplimit.h and netlink.c was pathced but it doesn't add a line in
/usr/src/linux-2.4/net/ipv4/netfilter/Config.in .
I don't know about the errors.
Regards
Alireza
