So this does break the default multi-lib build also, I thought it was a
transient problem at first, but it's very reproducible.
Add these to your local.conf
require conf/multilib.conf
MULTILIBS = "multilib:lib32"
DEFAULTTUNE_virtclass-multilib-lib32 = "x86"
bitbake lib32-core-image-minimal
Then wait and:
