Ideally we should write a patch fixing the Makefile so dri-swrast
installs the pieces the xserver needs to build. Does it need both
sarea.h and dri_interface.h or just the latter?
FWIW the dri-i9* drivers install the dri header but not sarea.h.

* [CONSOLIDATED PULL 04/14] qt4: Added support for QtMobility 1.2
From: Saul Wold @ 2011-10-16 7:46 UTC (permalink / raw)
To: openembedded-core
In-Reply-To: <cover.1318751027.git.sgw@linux.intel.com>
From: Dmitry Cherukhin <dima_ch@emcraft.com>
The QtMobility is a Qt add-on which allows to include standard mobile
functionality to Qt applications. For details, see
http://qt.nokia.com/products/qt-addons/mobility/
The patch is intended to add support for the QtMobility 1.2 package to OE.
Added two recipes:
1) qt-mobility-x11 builds the QtMobility 1.2 package
on the basis of Qt/X11 using the qt4-x11-free package;
2) qt-mobility-embedded builds the QtMobility 1.2 package
on the basis of Qt/Embedded using the qt4-embedded package.

This is way overcomplicated. Just do:
DRIDRIVERS_append_armv4t = ",glamo"
With the other approach you should be using .= to avoid spaces anyway.
Cheers,

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying there. Can you be more
concrete?

Well, yes, but in that case it doesn't seem as though the EXTRA_ bit
(and this patch) buys anything.

the point is that you don't need to know who is setting swrast there for
armv4t...

so EXTRA_DRIMODULES_append_armv4t should be fine, right?

Is this really better than using "DRIMODULES_append_armv4t = ..."?
It's not really true that you can do it without any knowledge of what
other layers are doing since if you end up with two competing
EXTRA_DRIMODULES_foo overrides then one of them will get lost.

Why is this needed? If the internal headers are meant to be installed,
why doesn't "make install" do that? Or, conversely, if they aren't
intended to be installed, why do we want them there?
Please add some commentary to the checkin message explaining the
rationale for the patch.

Switching to the -lite would troublesome from an upgrade path of view. As for TI chips I need to figure out how to enable using our new powervr dri module in this new setup.
