I think there is something wrong here wrt. what is assigned into the item
variable. The third line is going to overwrite what is the intention of
the first 2 lines.
And I suspect you don't even want to devm_kmemdup() into
mlxreg_dpu->hotplug_data->items above but just devm_kcalloc() it as I
think this loop tries to overwrite (duplicate) all entries (even if it
looks flawed in its current form).
