The reason why function "rdma_create_event_channel" call failed is that: The Mellanox NIC driver loaded before some kernel infiniband core related modules, such as rdma_ucm driver. This is really not related with SPDK . I can provide 2 methods here to avoid such issue:

1. Try to remove "mlx5_core" module, and manually loaded all the kernel modules located in "/lib/modules/$(shell uname -r)/kernel/drivers/infiniband/core" directory first, and then reload "mlx5_core" again.

2. Another method is that: We can build the infiniband core related modules into kernel but not built as separate modules, and built Mellanox driver for kernel modules.
