[U-Boot-Users] u-boot serial console not working

i'm using a MPC 8280 Rattler board. i'm trying to port u-boot on to it. but the
serial console is not coming on the hyperterminal. i have debugged teh code with
BDI debugger and has checked that the program counter goes and waits at the
serial_getc() function in smc.c. but the serial console doesn't appear at all.
i'm using u-boot 1.1.4
please if somebody could help in it

Make sure that you have h/w and s/w  flow  control  diabled  in  your
terminal  emulation  program.  If  this  doesn't help, then check the
clock and BRG settings and the clock routing.
