Hi,
I'm (again) considering replacing Solaris by Linux on several of our
Sun Ultra 10/Creator3D desktop systems. I tested this earlier with
RH6.0 but found the X server to be pretty unstable.
Now I'm somewhat short on testing equipment and I wonder if you folks
could tell me if RH 6.1 has improved X server stability.
Thanks for your time.
Best regards,

I have a UltraSparc-IIi cpu with ATI Rage Pro DVD Graphics card here, installed with RH6.1.
The X seem like stable but just when I open a terminal, once my mouse point to it(terminal) and try to type something, it show funny thing on my screen.

I'm piling through a number of backlogged messages, so if this has been
answered already or this issue has been raised, kindly ignore the rantings
of a stressed-out PhD student...
I too see some "instability" in X, mostly attributable to either a bad
param being sent by WindowMaker 0.61 to the Xlib library, or to the X
server itself saying "sunMouse<mumble>: unrecognized id".
I'm on a UltraSparc 10, RH 6.0.

All known X server stability issues (especially with
Creator/Creator3D/Elite3D cards) were fixed in 6.1
I'd highly recommend using 6.1
