Can you be more specific about your question? The only online reference I
can (quickly) find to a "manual and administrators guide in suse 8.2"
references an actual *paper* document.

Clearly, you are referring to some file. If you can provide a URL for it, I
(or someone else here) can probably help out. If you cannot (if the file is
only available on purchased CDs, for example), you will need help not from
"linux people" but specifically from a SuSE 8.2 user.

While I have not seen the document in question, Linux docs *typically* are
either simple text documents (easily read in Word), html (easily read in
any browser), or PDF (easily read using Adobe Acrobat). What we need to
know to help you is the format of the doc. It is, of course, possible that
SuSE uses some other format for this manual, one that intentionally makes
it hard to read it on DOS or WIndows systems ... though I cannot
immediately think of a business benefit to their doing so.

I can only speak about the SuSE version 8.1 which I have on my machine but
there should be only minor differences to 8.2.
This document you're talking about is a *.PDF file.
It comes in a rpm package on your first SuSE installation CD
(suselinux-adminguide_en8.1.0.0.dx86-5.i586.rpm).
Since I have no idea how to handle *.rpm packages in an dos/windows
environment, the only solution I see is to ask somebody who already
runs a Linux system to copy it from your installation CD to another
(as *.PDF of course).

Oh, btw. beside the adminguide there is a readworthy userguide too and lots
of HOWTO's in plain text on this CD.

HTH Matthias
