[U-Boot-Users] MPPC8560ADS and U-Boot 1.1.1 problems ?

Greetings,

We trying to install the latest version of U-Boot 1.1.1 on 
a MPPC 8560ADS development board, this initially does not 
boot (it actually sits inside in a permanent loop after the 
first couple of instructions). We have a Abatron 
debugger with a GDB/DDD interface but we don't seem 
to be able to step through the code to understand why 
it doesn't work.

We built U-Boot with the correct settings for the board, 
I believe that the dev board we're using is one of the 
support variants.

Are there any known problems with 1.1.1 and the 8560ADS boards ?
Any help that any one could give would be extremely 
useful.

This is actually an oxymoron. Either you use the latest version  (top
of  CVS),  or  version  1.1.1 which is more than 2 months old - read:
OLD.

As you can see with a simple look at the CHANGELOG file in CVS, a lot
of changes have been added since:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/u-boot/u-boot/CHANGELOG?rev=HEAD

Try the current version (top of CVS).

Rob,

You should use the current top of CVS.  However, I do not believe
that it will work directly either.  You must apply the patch that
I submitted on 17-June-2004 called MPC85XXADS-20040617-diffs.tgz.
That patch will complete the changes that were started and applied
to the CVS tree a couple weeks earlier.

Please let me know how that goes.

Also, if you could, please let me know if you have a "Rev A" board
or something else.
