Hi!

Although the frequency is not officially supported, maybe someone can give
me a hint why the tx hangs when operating at 5880 MHz. Operation at 5875 MHz
and at 5885 MHz, as well as all other necessary frequencies, is fine. Is
there a bug in the synthesizer-setting for this special frequency? I can't
believe in a silicon-bug.

You can actually tune the frequency, and sometimes even transmit or receive
some frames. Tuning to another frequency after that results in permanent tx
hangs and chip resets. The only way to escape this is to reload the driver,
which seems to do something to cure the situation.

Best regards,

Robert

I got some more information about this issue:

In fact tuning to 5.88 GHz works fine as long as I do not tune to another or
the very same frequency again. I can actually send frames successfully, but
even if I tune to 5.88 GHz again the tx gets hung. The only way to get it
back to work is to reload ath9k. Any chip-reset, either WARM or POWER_ON
does not solve the problem. Comparing what is done when the tx hangs and
what is done on driver-init did not give me a clue what could be missing.

Can somebody give me a hint what to do to reset the card a little bit more
than with a normal reset?

Best regards,

Robert
