Differents OSs have differents sources for DRM kernel side so
that's not a problem nor will affect others OSs than linux.

I would like to see fbdev becoming the defacto standard for
graphics management in linux but:

1. It must mature and be modernized a lot to be accepted as such.
2. People tend to not agree.

So I see the current DRM/FBDEV/X cooperative schema for the foreseeable
future.

Yes, a minimal driver would do the work _NOW_.  I just think
that for the long term a solution like fbdev with asteroids
is needed to standarize graphics management in linux.
