SATO terminal takes 4 min to launch

Hi All ,

I am having an yocto setup where the console-terminal ( Touchscreen panel ) from "matchbox-terminal" package
takes around 4-7 min to launch

This much time is taken for every time first instance of terminal is being launched.
For subsequent terminal (terminal 2 onwards ) not much time is being taken.

Any pointers or aspects which i can evaluate to get an idea as what is causing this issue ?
or
As an thumb rule approx how much time does sato-terminal takes to launch ?

Is there any specific resources which i can look at to have pointers

I am trying to understand the flow so as to understand various elements coming in play here .

Based on initial understanding of SATO , i am evaluating X11 to being with.

Hi,

Please check systemd-analyze output. It may be that ssh and crypto key
generation without HW support is taking a lot of time for example.

Hi Group Members ,

Further debugging on same i observed that :
1) After board booted , if i try to launch the matchbox-teriminal by double clicking on the icon
is takes around 3-4 min to give terminal .

2) But if i *run startx application specifically* and then run the matchbox-terminal it starts in seconds .

If member's can share any input / feedback on same it would be helpful.
Or if i am missing any obvious things here ( as this is my first project on QT graphics )

can you provide dmesg or any other console messages. I bet there is some
info there.

Hi Armin ,

Sorry for delay in response.
Thanks for pointer , debugging further i was able to improve the time ( approx by 30% )
by moving from core-image-minimal to X11.

Still there is some approx 2 min but at-least an improvement by 50% of what i had .

Currently having some issue accessing hardware due to lock-down .
Will share the logs once i get an access to hardware.
