request for permission

hey hans.
i would like to request permission to remove the banner reiser4progs
come with on startup.
the reason i ask is because, 1: i want to know if its all right, and 2:
i have several reiser4 partitions, and it takes up almost all the boot
screen, where i sometimes got to see something when experimenting.

I was SUPPOSED to go to sleep but this caught my eye ;)

It's GPL right? At least Hans said so even if he wouldn't have gotten
around to fix the legalese text.. I didn't check..

Anyway, whatever patches you want to do for yourself should be legal
by any standard.

we only complain when distros remove them, if an end user cares enough 
to bother to remove them, he should remove them.

Copyright only affects, well, copying.  (Although I hear in Europe, they
have "author rights", which covers use as well.)  If Redeeman is not
distributing his changes, copyright does not apply, and he does not need
a license to make such changes.

Even so, it's probably still nice to ask.  Especially since Hans said
that the license change to GPL is based on a gentleman's agreement that
people respect his request that the credits will remain intact.

okay, i just wanted to ask.
also, if i may suggest it, i think you should remove the newline it
creates, and maybe just make the message abit larger, but 1 line, so 4
partitions of reiser4 doesent take up 12 lines on boot :)
