Salut Fabrice,
A+, Jean-Michel

Please discard this message written in French. It can be summarized in:
***********************************************************************************
Ronald DELOBEL outlines that patches are needed to x-compile QEMU for win32
under GNU/Linux. Do you know what are these patches?
Kind regards,
Jean-Michel

COMPLETELY OFFTOPIC BUT.....
Damnit I was enjoying improving my French reading skills :)
Seriously my level of French understanding is only GCSE (mid teen) but I
enjoy trying to read it - I don't see why you should be restricted to
use just English on a mailing list where the main developer I assume is
French (and yourself no doubt).
Quite honestly if I needed to reply to it I'd translate it and reply in
English (obviously at points where I could communicate in French I'd use
that).

Please, no...
Let me take this opportunity to thank the developers for running the
mailing list and making code comments in English, whatever your reasons
may be. Probably the reason is simply that if folks in country X know a
language besides their own, it is usually English.
FWIW, I learned German as my second language in High School, not French,
and even that I remember very little of. Babelfish is good in a pinch
but not for regular work. This would shut me out, at least.

Or Russian. Depends on the part of the world that you're in. :-)

Klasse! Heisst das, wir schreiben uns jetzt Briefe in deutsch?
As for the "Excuse my French": This is probably the clear pronounciation
typical for certain parts of England. It should be "Excuse my frank
language". In the same line, this was probably what Tony B. heard: "They
have rockets", but it was meant as "They have really no bigger weapons
than their cats"...
Ciao,
Dscho

Dear Benjamin,
Off-the-list, did you ever listen to the Queen speaking French? Quite
amazingly, she speaks without accent (this is not a joke).
My personal explanation is that the Queen feels French... Less surprisingly,
recent pools showed that 85% of UK citizen spoke French or intended to speak
French at home. The young generation sometimes does not speak English at all.
Kind regards,
Jean-Michel

In the part of the UK where I've been a few times, it was common practise
for people to say "Excuse my French." after swearing.
Are you sure they didn't mean the "Kissez-vous mon backside"-type of
French in that poll? :)

Just another proof that French is the official language of UK.
:)

No, I took it for humour. The only true information in this thread is that the
Queen speaks French fluently, probably better than I can speak any foreign
language.
Kind regards,
Jean-Michel
