Dear all,
I would like to ask whether any of you is aware if the ath9k drivers support the "Contention Free Parameter Set Elements" as defined in section 7.3.2.5 of the IEEE 802.11 2007 standard?
The original intention of the "CF Parameter Set element" was to establish a "contention free" period of operation in the channel for PCF stations. The normal DCF stations would simply defer from accessing the channel during this period by setting their NAV to the duration of this period.
I am aware that PCF is not deployed, but my question is related to whether existing DCF stations would understand the mentioned element if present in a Beacon frame and accordingly defer from transmitting, or whether they would simply ignore that information ?
Best Regards
Daniel
