Previously, since determination whether there was an Intel random
number generator was based on a single bit, on systems with a matching
bridge device but without a firmware hub, there was a 50% chance that
the code would incorrectly decide that the system had an RNG. This
patch adds detection of the firmware hub to better qualify the
existence of an RNG.

There is one issue with the patch: I was unable to determine the LPC
equivalent for the PCI bridge 8086:2430 (since the old code didn't
care about which of the many devices provided by the ICH/ESB it was
chose to use the PCI bridge device, but the FWH settings live in the
LPC device, so the device list needed to be changed).

I don't think we want to add yet another use of volatile
(see the kernel archives for why).
Use memory barriers instead, please.

That's really confusing magic.

Do these magic registers have names? Possible to use #defines for it?

Same for these magic bitmasks.

magic values...

I can certainly do that.

Any better idea? I just wanted to prevent adding another #ifdef CONFIG_SMP, and since it doesn't matter where the write
goes for UP, doing it that way seemed the simplest solution.

While one could certainly make up names for them (the documentation of the functionality used here isn't the best I've
seen), I generally dislike creating defines when their values are used just in a single place *and* when their naming
can at best be artificial (i.e. doesn't serve documentation purposes). But if you and/or Jeff insist, I can certainly do
a change like that.

# dmesg | grep rng
intel_rng: FWH not detected

looks like this ProLiant box with the ICH5 chip has no usable RNG
included, or should it?

A configuration like this is what actually motivated me to write the
patch. You need to remember that the RNG doesn't live in the ICH, but in
the FWH (which is a different chip not showing up as a separate device
anywhere) with only some access parameters being configured via the LPC
device inside the ICH.

well, then let's push it into Linus' tree after the proposed cleanups.
