Because it seems to be the standard?  Because ml5 would seem to suggest
this is the fifth release from Mickey which in this case is not true?
Because going from ml to r should not cause problems?

Because of the reasons above I did not really see any need for
discussion.  I somehow still don't.

because you are stepping on toes of one of the oldest oe devs while we are all out of contact on way to guadec.

Do you really think Mickey would object it? Let him speak, maybe, before 
making so much noise?

I, personally, think that contacting Mickey would be the right thing to 
do before proceeding with that, but I still don't think it can be 
considered offensive.
