Hmm,
Have you tried updating your BIOS?
Taking this to the lm-sensors list:
Hi all,
As you can read above the new DMI checks in the abituguru driver are causing
problems for this user, because he has one of the first abituguru motherboards
which appearantly doesn't have dmi. So I guess we should remove the check on
systems where the BIOS doesn't have DMI? Does anyone have a better idea?
Regards,
Hans

Was there an answer to this question?

If this affects a single board, I think I would simply document the
fact that this board needs the force parameter, and be done with it.
Letting the driver load in the absence of DMI partly voids the check.

Sorry for not answering sooner. I have not tried updating the BIOS.

Hmm,
I just checked the motherboard in question, the Abit AA-8 durumax, and it
actually isn't one of the first. Its much newer then my uguru motherboard whcih
does DMI just fine, could you try updating the BIOS please, also do you have
ACPI enabled in the BIOS?
Regards,
Hans
