Yes, even if the flow is not so huge.

Hope this list works better. It appears the old list got really
messed up sometime in early Nov. The archive for Nov. is wierd.

I'm giving your timer IRQ patch a whirl with 2.6.22.14. Hoping it might
fix the timeouts that randomly occur in the GCC testsuite and the ocassional
problem with make.

I realized recently that I'm not seeing these timeouts in my UP
testsuite runs. So, I'm now wondering if this could be due to the
lack of synchonization across CPUs of CR16.

.. so please be gentle!

Hi chaps I just noticed (it may have been there since forever) that my raid5 array has a state of 'active' where others are 'clean'. I have tried to search for what the states mean... and looked in the man pages to no avail. What does this mean? Why might it have changed?

Thanks!

and my first question is this:

i have a device with spp profile, this send audio data to a pc.
I want to try this device as a headset. able to send audio through
the internet, for example with Ekiga.
I have been reading and watching the audio profile of bluez, but i
dont know how work with spp profile and audio devices.
hardware is designed well, so I must adapt to that.

Hi,

> i have a device with spp profile, this send audio data to a pc.

this makes no sense and there is no profile like this. BlueZ is only
supported standard profiles.

Marcel

Greets:

Currently using xawtv to capture video from my USB webcam, Works just fine.
The only issue is that xawtv does not seem to capture audio from the same
webcam. Ive read the man pages and there doesnt seem to be a switch to direct
xawtv to source sound from the webcam. Was wondering if anyone can provide
any advise.

regards and thanks

You should have a look at the Wiki:

http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Webcams

Find out which driver your webcam is using, then find out if it supports
sound. I didn't deal with webcams in the last two years and don't know
what the current state-of-the-art is, but I think there are not many
drivers which support sound from a webcam.

Thanks,
Hans

Hello,

I have an Alienware 8 laptop that contains dual GeForce GTX 880M
graphics GPUs with 16GB of video ram, as I understand it. I am running
opensuse 3.2. At some times, like once every 10 boots or so, my system
will hang on boot. Black screen shown.

I looked at my /var/log/messages and there are numerous nouveau errors.
I have attached a section of this output. I am willing to perform any
tests that would be helpful. I have two of these computers and the error
messages appear the same on both, so it is probably not a hardware issue.

Even with the error messages, after the system boots it runs well. I am
currently only running 2D windows, such as xterm and Firefox. I do not
know if the errors are just something to be ignored or should be
investigated. Also, on two occasions a random pattern has appeared
superimposed on the original display. The system is hung at this point
and I must reboot.

Please tell me if this is a proper type of post.
Don

You could be hitting
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70354 although that's
unclear to me... most of the people with that issue have GK106's and
it's 99% reproducible for them, whereas it's 10% for you. And they
have it as a secondary GPU, whereas I assume there's no intel gpu
exposed in your system.

That said, no additional words of wisdom from me =/

What kernel are you using? There have been some fixes to the context
switching logic recently (kernel 4.0), perhaps they affect your
scenario?

I am running Linux version 3.16.7-7 kernel, from the opensuse 3.2
distribution. I think there also may be an Intel gpu that precedes the
Nvidia 880M gpus in my computer. I have very little documentation on
these computers, sold refurbished by Dell with no documentation. lspci
lists the graphics card as "NVIDIA Corporation GK104M [GeForce GTX 880M]
(rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]). No Intel mentioned. Google
search found "integrated intel 4600 series with Nvidia GeForce GTX 880M.
Different specs from different places:-(

I will try kernel 4.0 and compare the errors.

Thanks,
Don
