searching for Makefile references to Kconfig variables that don't
exist, and i find:

===== ATHEROS_AR71XX =====
./drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath9k/Makefile:ath9k-$(CONFIG_ATHEROS_AR71XX) += ahb.o

just FYI.

We need it in OpenWrt and plan to send Atheros AR71xx SoC support soon, do not
consider this for removal. Thanks

just FYI, i wasn't pushing to have it taken out, just pointing out
its current lack of use. what someone decides to do about it is
entirely in their hands.

List,

Does anyone know where I can buy a working AR6000 sdio device? I know its driver is maintained by OpenMoko.

Appreciate for any help.

You can't really purchase one through regular retail shops. As with
other mobile wireless devices these will be built in on embedded
devices. Of course people can dismantle their embedded devices and
sell parts on ebay but I think thats very rare.

For what I recall from your previous discussion on this list, the answer is
NO, it does not support HT rates on adhoc mode. But I have used my ath9k
device on non-HT rates.

that's true, ath9k/adhoc works well under non-HT mode only.

I don't think there are any hardware limitations on using HT rates on ad-hoc
mode but I may be wrong, maybe Louis or Johannes can clarify. If not then
what is a good way to think about a hack?

Someone interested in adhoc with 11n support just needs to read the
11n draft (now approved and should be released soon to the public if
you don't have it) and address it on mac80211 first then test it with
the driver and ensure aggregation is enabled for adhoc mode on the
driver.

For mesh its the same but it seems the 11s draft does not cover
aggregation but only using MCS rates.

I've recently been researching this [1], and there seems to be two
possible SD sized SDIO options for AR6001 based devices (note that
AR6002 devices do have a blob that needs to be loaded from linux):

1. SX-SDWAG (preferable as it has built in antenna)
http://www.silexamerica.com/products/wireless_modules/sx-sdwag.html
(Currently trying to source from a few places; one place had it listed
but is currently out of stock; I'll see what they do with my order.)

2. CAW-SDIOG

I've gotten a few requests off-list regarding the status of this, so I
thought I'd post a general update:

(a) The SX-SDWAG is discontinued; Silex Technology US put out a "last
buy request" notification to its resellers and distributors about 6
months ago.

(b) Several Chinese-language websites lead me to believe there are
several companies in China that may have stock of this item; I have
emailed them, but it is currently Chinese "Spring Festival", where
pretty much no one works Feb 8 - 22 (and then of course have a big
backlog when they get back), so I don't expect to hear back from any of
them until early March.

(c) If you would be interested in going in on a group purchase of these,
please email dclark at pobox.com with how many you would want and what
range of prices you would be interested in that number (I've seen old
prices from $70 to $160 on various web sites). I'm guessing if a Chinese
supplier has them there will be a MOQ (minimum order quantity) of
somewhere between 10 and 100, so group purchase would probably be the
only way to get them.

Cheers,

I bought an AR6001 SDIO card CAW-SDIO? from www.cardaccess-inc.com.

Please note that AR6001 is discontinued. I paid $80 for it.

Does it comes as pictured (exposed circuit board), or with a plastic enclosure?

Have you found a good tiny antenna for it?

Thanks,

It is exposed circuit board as pictured.

I have a few tiny antennas by myself. Not from it.
You can ask if it has one.
