Hi,

I vote for applying both Tascam US-224 patches:

http://www.mail-archive.com/alsa-devel@lists.sourceforge.net/msg11281.html
http://www.mail-archive.com/alsa-devel@lists.sourceforge.net/msg11311.html

David Coulm has reported that the US-224 works now. The US-224 depends
on usx2yloader like the other two guys called us122 and us428. The us224 is a
controller device like the us428 and so it also depends on the us428control
utility.

BTW: I don't insist on renaming us428control, but probably it would avoid
a few bugreports...

bye,
martin

i think it's ok to keep the name.
even the usx2y rule would be broken if tascam releases us438 or so...

alsa-firmware/usx2yloader/usx2y.prepad can be removed now. (That file is
replaced by us224.prepad and us122.prepad)

They should ask us before releasing it :)

this is a patch against /alsa-tools/usx2yloader/tascam_fpga.in:

unfortunately this patch is only half of what it should be:
"us224control" is meant to be created from "ln -s us428control us224control"
how would we integrate this "ln -s us428control us224control" into Makefile.am
? or should we just cp the symbolic link? but then: can you put the symbolic
link created by "ln -s us428control us224control" into CVS?

if nobody knows, here is what works out of the box:

is it necessary for performance except for the sane naming?
for example, in the case of aplay/arecord, both of them are the same
binary but perform differently according to the executed name.
if it's not the case, i'd like to keep the same name.

sane naming only so far.
