When playing a sound through the speakers on Toshiba Tecra 8100 the only
sound produced is noise.

I don't have /proc/asound/card0/ymfpci
When i do 'locate ymfpci' it appears in /sys/module/ymfpci/ and
/sys/bus/pci/drivers/ymfpci/ because I am using sysfs. Where can I compare
the registers now?

Weird.  What is the output of "ls /proc/asound/card0"?
