When queues >= 4 we use different registers but we were not subtracting
the offset of 4. Fix this.

Found out by Coverity.

Right, it's possible that a previously misconfigured system now
successfully probes more than one device that uses a particular
spinlock. But such system would be suffering from issues related to e.g.
probe ordering.

So I think we should ignore this issue.

There is already an inconsistency in between these; as with above any
system that uses both request() and request_specific() will be suffering
from intermittent failures due to probe ordering.

The case where I can see a
problem with this would be if the two clients somehow would nest their
locking regions.

But generally I think this could consider this an improvement, because
the request_specific() would now be able to acquire its hwlock, with
some additional contention due to the multiple use.

Can we not replace vabits_user with vabits_actual and have a single
write? Maybe not in this patch but once the series is applied, they are
practically the same. It could be an additional patch (or define a
vabits_user macro as vabits_actual).

Thinking about it, do we actually need a Kconfig option for VA_BITS_MIN?
Can we not just generated it here based on VA_BITS as min(48, VA_BITS)?

If there's a way to fix the code without making it more confusing, sure,

TX Timestamp in XGMAC comes from MAC instead of descriptors. Implement
this in a new callback.

Also, RX Timestamp in XGMAC must be cheked against corruption and we need
a barrier to make sure that descriptor fields are read correctly.

In order to add Split Header support, stmmac_rx() needs to take into
account that packet may be split accross multiple descriptors.

Refactor the logic of this function in order to support this scenario.

Adds the logic to insert a given VLAN ID in a packet. This is offloaded
to HW and its descriptor based. For now, only XGMAC implements the
necessary callbacks.

Hi Sam,
I did a similar thing a few years ago [1]. IIRC it was well received and just
needed some nits cleaned up. Unfortunately I lost interest^W^W switched to other
things and dropped it. So thanks for picking this back up!

Fast forward to today, I still think it's a good idea but I want to make sure
this won't negatively interact with the self refresh helpers. With the helpers
in place, it's possible to call disable consecutively (ie: once to enter self
refresh and again to actually shut down). I did a quick pass and it looks like

Not really.

It is already taken care of in the following way.
PCIe controller's device-tree node has an entry with a phandle of BPMP-FW's node
to get a handle of it and PCIe driver uses tegra_bpmp_get() API for that.
This API returns -EPROBE_DEFER if BPMP-FW's driver is not ready yet, which guarantees
that PCIe driver gets loaded only after BPMP-FW's driver and this order is followed
during noirq phase also.
