I assume it's the same schematics as the A311D VIM3.

BTW, as I asked on patch 2, Khadas asked me to rename the board to "vim3l",
which is the commercial name, should I only change the DT name or also the
compatible "khadas,vim3l" ?

You're claiming copyright on dwarf definitions? ;-)

I'm thinking only Oracle was daft enough to think stuff like that was
copyrightable.

Also; I think it would be very good to not use/depend on DWARF for this.

You really don't need all of DWARF; I'm thikning you only need a few
types; for location we already have regs_get_kernel_argument() which
has all the logic to find the n-th argument.

Khadas asked me to rename the board to "vim3l", which is the commercial name,

From a pure SoC die perspective they are the same, exactly like
the S905X and S905D, only the package changes.
So only the board DT will determine which eth PHY is used,
if a DSI panel is connected, a demodulator is connected.. even
if the underlying package is S905Y3 without any of these pins
available.

The audio driver is slightly different, but the vim3 nodes will be the exact same
here when audio will be finished on sm1.

+Freescale i.MX8 DDR Performance Monitoring Unit (PMU)
+====================================================

+There are no performance counters inside the DRAM controller, so performance
+signals are brought out to the edge of the controller where a set of 4 x 32 bit
+counters is implemented. This is controlled by the Performance log on parameter
+which causes a large number of PERF signals to be generated.
+
+Selection of the value for each counter is done via the config registiers. There
+is one register for each counter. Counter 0 is special in that it always counts
+“time” and when expired causes a lock on itself and the other counters and an
+interrupt ie enable of counter 0 is a global function.
+
+The "format" directory describes format of the config (event ID) and config1
+(AXI ID filter) fields of the perf_event_attr structure, see /sys/bus/event_source/
+devices/imx8_ddr0/format/. The "events" directory describes the events types
+hardware supported that can be used with perf tool, see /sys/bus/event_source/
+devices/imx8_ddr0/events/.
+
+AXI ID filter is only used by CSV modes 0x41 (axid-read) and 0x42 (axid-write)
+to count reading or writing matches filter setting. User should specify this two
+events with the same AXI ID filter value if want to count at the same time, as
+this filter register is shared between counters.

AXI filtering is used by CSV modes 0x41 and 0x42 to count reads or
writes with an ARID or AWID matching filter setting. Granularity is at
subsystem level. Implementation does not allow filtring between masters
within a subsystem. Filter is defined with 2 configuration parameters.

--AXI_ID defines AxID matching value
--AXI_MASKING defines which bits of AxID are meaningful for the matching
	0:corresponding bit is masked
	1: corresponding bit is not masked, i.e. used to do the matching

When non-masked bits are matching corresponding AXI_ID bits then counter
is incremented. This filter allows counting read or write access from a
subsystem or multiple subsystems.

Perf counter is incremented if AxID && AXI_MASKING == AXI_ID && AXI_MASKING

AXI_ID and AXI_MASKING are mapped on DPCR1 register in performance counter.

Read and write AXI ID filter should write same value to DPCR1 if want to
specify at the same time as this filter is shared between counters.

e.g.
perf stat -a -e imx8_ddr0/axid-read,axi_id=0xMMMMDDDD/,imx8_ddr0/axid-write,axi_id=0xMMMMDDDD/ cmd
MMMM: AXI_MASKING  DDDD: AXI_ID
perf stat -a -e imx8_ddr0/axid-read,axi_id=0xffff0001/ cmd, which will monitor ARID=1

Does the device use a device-private CMA area?  Does it work with Linux

Add support to get regulator information of 3.3V and 12V supplies of a PCIe
slot from the respective controller's device-tree node and enable those
supplies. This is required in platforms like p2972-0000 where the supplies
to x16 slot owned by C5 controller need to be enabled before attempting to
enumerate the devices.

This patch series enables Tegra194's C5 controller which owns x16 slot in
p2972-0000 platform. C5 controller's PERST# and CLKREQ# are not configured as
output and bi-directional signals by default and hence they need to be
configured explicitly. Also, x16 slot's 3.3V and 12V supplies are controlled
through GPIOs and hence they need to be enabled through regulator framework.
This patch series adds required infrastructural support to address both the
aforementioned requirements.
Testing done on p2972-0000 platform
- Able to enumerate devices connected to x16 slot (owned by C5 controller)
- Enumerated device's functionality verified
- Suspend-Resume sequence is verified with device connected to x16 slot

The Amlogic SM1 DynamIQ Shared Unit has a dedicated clock tree similar to the
CPU clock tree with a supplementaty mux to select the CPU0 clock instead.

Leave this as read-only since it's set up by the early boot stages.

The Amlogic SM1 can set a dedicated clock frequency for each CPU core by
having a dedicate tree for each core similar to the CPU0 tree.
Like the DSU tree, a supplementaty mux has been added to use the CPU0
frequency instead.

But since the cluster only has a single power rail and shares a single PLL,
it's not worth adding 3 unsused clock tree, so we add only the mux to
select the CPU0 clock frequency for each CPU1, CPU2 and CPU3 cores.

They are set read-only because the early boot stages sets them to select
the CPU0 input clock.

Update the documentation to support clock driver for the Amlogic SM1 SoC
and expose the GP1, DSU and the CPU 1, 2 & 3 clocks.

SM1 clock tree is very close, the main differences are :
- each CPU core can achieve a different frequency, albeit a common PLL
- a similar tree as the clock tree has been added for the DynamIQ Shared Unit
- has a new GP1 PLL used for the DynamIQ Shared Unit
- SM1 has additional clocks like for CSI, NanoQ an other components
