* [PATCH v3 0/5] Add RK816 PMIC support

This series aims to add support for Rockchip RK816 PMIC series. As per
datasheet it's targeted for RK3126/RK3128 (RK816-1), RK1108 (RK816-2) and
PX3-SE (RK816-3) but might be used for other SoCs as well. The MFD consists
of an integrated RTC, a GPIO controller, two 32k clock outputs, a power
key, 3 buck- and 6 ldo regulators, 3 regulator-switches, and charger with
integrated fuel gauge. Charger and fuel gauge are not part of this series.
Two of the switches (otg/boost) are part of the binding, but not of
the driver. They must only ever be enabled if no battery charging is
happening, but it will be enabled automatically if a battery is attached
and an external power source is connected. Thus that needs some
incorporation of a yet to be added charger driver.
Integration in the existing rk8xx-infrastructure was pretty straightforward
and only needed very little tweaking. In order to not further bloat the
driver(s) too much with additional `#define`s I tried to re-use existing
ones wherever possible.

The patches are loosely based on the vendor's implementation, verified
against the datasheet and tested/measured on a RK3126 board. As they are
touching several subsystems I'm sending them (very) early for the
6.10.-cycle.

This is a slightly different approach than what the driver does for STEs,
where it explicitly sets the used bits. Is there a reason for that?

Right, that would make more sense.

I think that sounds workable, especially as there is already
the randomize_kstack_offset=on/off conditional at boot time, it
could fall back to just not randomizing and print a warning
if the feature is enabled but unavailable at boot time.

I don't know too much about how the PMU works in detail, but I'm
also worried about two possible issues that end up preventing us
from using it in practice:

- if enabling PMCCNTR_EL0 takes away one of the limited number
  of available counters, we probably don't want to go there

- similarly, I would expect it to have a nonzero power
  consumption if the default is to have the clock disabled
  and non-counting. Probably not a big deal for server machines,
  but could be an issue on battery powered embedded devices.

This patchset introduces some changes based on RFC v5:
- introduce helper get_max_msg_size
- support compatible string
- iterate the id_table
- Support multiple configs in one command
- Added i.MX support
- Patch 5 firmware: arm_scmi: Add SCMI v3.2 pincontrol protocol basic support
  is almost same as RFCv5 expect multiple configs support.
- Patch 4 the dt-bindings includes compatible string to support i.MX
- Rebased on 2023-12-15 linux-next/master

This PINCTRL Protocol is following Version 3.2 SCMI Spec Beta release.

On ARM-based systems, a separate Cortex-M based System Control Processor
(SCP) provides control on pins, as well as with power, clocks, reset
controllers. So implement the driver to support such cases.

The i.MX95 Example as below:

 For the i.MX95 OEM stuff, I not have good idea, expect using compatbile
 string. Maybe the firmware public an protocol attribute to indicate it is

 current pinctrl-scmi.c not able to support OEM config, should we extend
 it with some method? Anyway if patch 1-4 is good enough, they could
 be picked up first.

 Since I am only able to test the patch on i.MX95 which not support
 geneirc pinconf, only OEM configs are tested in my side.

device node names, here you do not have devices.

Adding "regulator" suffix does not make them more generic... anyway,
that's not expected pattern. First, do you see such code anywhere?
Second, the regulator node names should be usually named as the name of
physical component. That's the most common pattern.

Please do not bring some exceptions from coding style just for your
device. Your device is not special.

You didn't ask for that, thats true.

I did it regardless, since node names should be generic and the "-reg"
suffix is not. They are all subnodes of "regulators", indeed, but I don't
think dropping the suffix completely makes the binding any better, since
there is a boost(-switch) and an otg-switch which are also subnodes of
"regulators" and they are just switches.

Yes, I trimmed context too much.

The reasoning of copying some UAPI and claiming it is a binding was:
"Copy media-bus-formats.h into dt-bindings/media to suplement TPG DT node."
so as seen *there is no reason*.

Commit msg should explain why we are doing things.

I don't understand what does it mean. You can use in your driver
whatever headers you wish, I don't care about them.

None of the last users of your API can be merged, therefore this API
should be considered as without users. We do not add API which does not
have any in-tree users.

We could try to get a flag added to the Rust standard library that
removes the core::sync::atomic module entirely, then pass that flag.

yes, very good! It's clearly stated in all three documentations
that Target replaces Slave and Controller replaces Master (i3c is
at the 1.1.1 version).

Also because some drivers have been written based on previous

This integrates RK816 support in the this existing rk8xx mfd driver.

This version has unaligned interrupt registers, which requires to define a
separate get_irq_reg callback for the regmap. Apart from that the
integration is straightforward and the existing structures can be used as
is. The initialization sequence has been taken from vendor kernel.

Add support for rk816 to the existing rk808 regulator driver.

The infrastructure of the driver can be re-used as is. A peculiarity for
this version is, that BUCK1/BUCK2 have a (common) bit which needs to
toggled after a voltage change to confirm the change. Regulator regmap
takes care of that by defining a apply_bit and apply_reg for those
regulators.

rk808_set_suspend_voltage_range currently does not account the existence of
apply_bit/apply_reg.

This adds support for those in same way it is done in
regulator_set_voltage_sel_regmap and is required for the upcoming RK816
support
