I'm still waiting since 2001, for it to stabilise, to be able to
driver the par-port. As root or non-root is OK.
It would be nice if the documentation was better than when I
last tried to read it. Developers [especially no english speaking]
shouldn't have to make the final documentation.
Some mechanism [perhaps wiki-like] to harvest the users
contribution towards documentation could possibly work.
Apparently Debian is 'strong on organisation [with a
constitution..etc]' and they don't like DOSemu's chaos.

I recently switched to Ubuntu GNU/Linux (debian based) and had problems
with dosemu. Finally, I ended up by sending a mail to the debian package
maintainer. He answered quickly, found a workaround and the whole thing
is now filed in Launchpad:
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/dosemu-freedos/+bug/56778
so there's still hope especially now that FreeDOS 1.0 has been released :)
