Problem with Linux kernel and Red Hat Enterprise Linux and ASUS mother board APIC

Brian,

I am having a problem with the compatability of the Linux Kernel with my
new system.  My new system is based on a ASUS P4P800-VM-UAY motherboard and
an Intel P4   2.8ghtz processor with 800mhz FSB. In my logs I get the
messages

Linux version 2.4.21-9.0.1.

OEM ID: ASUSTek  Product ID: P4P800-VM    APIC at: 0xFEE00000
I/O APIC #2 Version 32 at 0xFEC00000.
Processors: 2
xAPIC support is present
Enabling APIC mode: Flat.     Using 1 I/O APICs

An unexpected IO-APIC was found. If this kernel release is less than

I do have a serious problem with this system being very slow because of
these conflicts, so I need to get it fixed.
I forewarded this information to the link indicated:
linux-smp@vger.kernel.org

Are you people at Red Hat affiliated with these people?  Can I expect to
hear back from them any time soon?  Maybe with a suggested Kernel to run on
to resolve this problem.

Vincent,
I do not know that answer.  I think you should be able to get an answer 
from starting a web ticket with Red Hat.  You should be able to create a 
web ticket by doing the following:

1) Start at Redhat.com, www.redhat.com
2) Choose the "Support" Tab from the Options Menu
3) On the right hand side you should be able to login using your RHN 
login and password
4) Once logged in you should be able to create a web ticket

All of this happens at this URL, but I wanted you know how to get there.
