It really should, in cases where it can actually happen, I wrote the
code myself for that... Though things have changed since, and the checks
were lost at least once (and re-added), so I suppose it's possible that
they were lost _again_, but the flushing system is far more flexible now
and it's not flushing the same workqueue anyway, so it shouldn't happen.

I stand by what I said before, need to show more precisely what depends
on what, and I'm not going to accept a random kthread into this.

The AP team doesn't have any issues with this patch.
As per the specification, using the SAE timeout here is appropriate for EPPKE.

My first email on the topic has process stack traces as well as lockdep
locks-held printout that points to the deadlock.  I'm not sure what else to offer...please let me know
what you'd like to see.

I don't think this is a DT property, because it depends how the driver
behaves. If driver allocates smaller or bigger memory, then you keep
changing the DT. And then if other OS does not use CMA, but "TrulyCMA",
then we need to keep this growing, so just propose a change to defconfig.

You can as well fix the drivers to use proper size, based on that DT,
not cmdline argument.

Hello,

Here's another failure case from my torture test system.

This is from a patched 6.18.14+ kernel, but from a look at upstream Linux
kernel, the problems are there as well.

I believe the problem is something like this:

firmware crashes several times and cannot recover.  Maybe
Intel folks can tell why it is crashing?  I'd love to know if that
is something that can be fixed in the driver.

This method has comments about cleaning things up, but I don't see where it actually
cleans up the driver.  And it sets SDATA_IN_DRIVER to false, so a lot of the calls
in driver-ops.h that would otherwise tell the driver to clean up skip calls to
the driver.

When kmalloc() for tx_status fails partway through the TX ring
allocation loop in ath12k_dp_setup(), the previously allocated
tx_status buffers from earlier iterations are not freed on the
error path.

Add a cleanup loop to the existing failure path that frees all
allocated tx_status buffers. The cleanup loop mirrors the existing
pattern in ath12k_dp_device_deinit() (the normal teardown path)
rather than extracting a shared helper, to avoid adding call
overhead to the common deinit path. Happy to refactor into a helper
if preferred.

fw_id_to_link_sta ID in case you hit the ENOMEM case.

I have no reason to believe I am actually hitting this error case, but I saw

Hello,

I was hitting a tricky case where debugfs inodes were being used
after they were freed (more of a double free attempt, really).

I tried multiple things, but this is the last thing that I tried
and it seems to have fixed things.  I believe the other stuff I
tried (adding a spin lock, other sanity checking) didn't actually
make a difference, but I've left logs in place if I do run into
more troubles...

For reasons not entirely clear, I was seeing a logging message indicating
that a station was being deleted while links were still active.

I believe that the problem then becomes when the netdev calls the
debugfs_remove_recursive, the inodes for the link's debugfs are
deleted, but links still have a pointer to it, and would later try
to clear their own debugfs.

So, explicitly NULL out any link inodes when removing the netdev debugfs.
I'm not that confident that I didn't somehow break this with other
local changes..but if someone else hits a similar problem, maybe
it is worth cleaning this up and making a real patch.
