Is there any talk of porting OpenBSD to Xen too?
I mean, Free and NetBSD are ported, and Linux and Plan 9
(and seriously, who uses Plan 9?  yeah, It's got some very cool
features, but was it worth porting?) are ported, so why not
OpenBSD?

This has come up before.

Talk to the OpenBSD folks. Christian Limpach did the work as a NetBSD
developer. Plan 9 was done by a Plan 9 developer. I did the work as a
user of FreeBSD. Only Linux was done by the Xen team. If you or
someone else steps forward, Christian would probably be happy to
answer questions. FreeBSD is too far diverged to really help.

Maru,

I am only posting this to you since my postings to the xen list often never 
show up. As an OpenBSD user I am waiting for Vanderpool technology(VP) 
which will obviate the need to customize OpenBSD for Xen without VP.
The OpenBSD project does not (IMHO) have enough developer resources 
to support a temporary modification to the OS to permit it to run with the 
current  version of Xen. 

I only speak for myself, not the OpenBSD  developers.

This type of question, appearing on a research list, still amazes me.

xen-developers. 

Having said that, when I was compiling the index of virtualization 
papers, I could not find papers on the nuances of Xen porting.    
Perhaps this is not a common research topic in virtualization because 
other para-virtualization efforts have not attracted as many ports as 
Xen.  An index of Xen porting resources could help future ports.  In the 
absence of papers, are there known mailing list threads or other notes 
that could be compiled into an index?  E.g. a comparison of the Plan 9 
and NetBSD ports.

I started a paper on the plan 9 port, complete with all the mistakes I 
made along the way. I probably ought to finish it.
