Hello!
I've got a Linkstation II "NAS" device, which is running
kernel 2.4.20 on a MIPS LE CPU.
How stable was Reiser3 on kernel 2.4.20? Was it as trustworthy
and good as it is nowadays on a 2.6.15 kernel?
Thanks,
Alexander Skwar

It was reasonable. I think 2.4.17 was what got the last serious bugs.
Don't use acls though.

I think the only time I ever had serious problems (data loss) with ReiserFS
was with kernel 2.4.13 [sic].

The bugs fixed in 2.4.17 were fairly rare. I don't remember what they
were, but they were real.
