It looks like FOSDEM is Feb 7-8 this year.

Do we want to do a stand again this year? Who would be interested in
working on the stand?

Not that I want to pour cold water on any such plan, but personally I'm
not terribly convinced that a stand is very good value in terms of
benefits that it brings compared to the time taken to man it. FOSDEM
represents one of the fairly rare occasions when you have a significant
number of developers all in one place and, face-to-face time being such
a scarce resource, I can't help thinking that there are probably better
things to do with it.

So you are suggesting we request a devroom for some grooup hacking? Last
year the stand was a mini devroom :)

Not necessarily for hacking as such, but yes: I think a devroom (either
dedicated, or as some kind of splinter faction of the embedded track)
would probably be more productive than a stand.

Alternatively we could set up an unofficial OE track in, say, the Cafe
de l'Université. :-) Of course, downside there is no internet access.

As much as I love getting in touch with "visitors", I have to share Phil's
concerns.

I'm afraid though that we are too unimportant to qualify for a developer room.
This and we would need to have a more formal program (presentations et. al.)
than just a hackathon.

This is a very good idea! Leffe...

Depending on the quality and amount of presentations in the embedded
devroom, I could always try to make some room on Sunday morning for OE.
Of course I am not the only one to decide on this, so I cannot make any
promises. But given a decent proposal this could be considered.

It should be possible to track down a pub/bar/brasserie with Wifi in
Brussels.

Cheers,

Philippe
