Hello,

With latest dizzy branch of meta-fsl-ppc, with revision
(linux-qoriq_3.12.bb and linux-qoriq_3.12-prt.bb, Linux SRCREV =
"6619b8b55796cdf0cec04b66a71288edd3057229")
Instead of recognizing the HDD attached at SATA, it gives the following
errors.

[ 2.153541] ata2.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x1)
[ 6.800430] ata1.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x1)
[ 7.822380] ata2.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x1)
[ 11.966438] ata1.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x1)
[ 13.489386] ata2.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x1)

Same feature works fine with 3.0.xx kernel supplied with board. Please
suggest how to fix this issue?

Regards,
Siva Borra.

Hello Siva,

I tried the dizzy branch to build images and boot p3041ds board (uImage, dtb, core-image-mininal.rootfs.ext2.gz.u-boot), the SATA is launched normally.

Layers commit:
Poky - dizzy:9c4ff467f66428488b1cd9798066a8cb5d6b4c3b
meta-openembedded - dizzy:5b6f39ce325d490fc382d5d59c5b8b9d5fa38b38
meta-fsl-ppc - dizzy:5eeeb3ad74b72d904f805bc6e248e93e722b45c4

The full boot log is attached.

Best Regards,

Zhenhua

Hi Luo,

Thank you. Can you share the board revision?

The board revision I have tried is :
Board: P3041DS, Sys ID: 0x1c, Sys Ver: 0x12, FPGA Ver: 0x05, vBank: 0
U-Boot 2011.06-rc2 (Jun 09 2011 - 20:15:17)
And the HDD used is:

SATA device 1: Model: Hitachi HDS721050CLA362 Firm: JP2OA3MA Ser#:
JP1511HJ3TTD0K
             Type: Hard Disk
             Supports 48-bit addressing
             Capacity: 476940.0 MB = 465.7 GB (976773168 x 512)

Regards,
Siva Borra.
