hi all,
Is there anyone who have evaluated ar9220's throughput with ath9k?
With this card and ath9k, the average tx throughput is about 120Mbps. I
thought with this card, it should be very easy to get 180Mbps (I can get
this result with my 9160 card).
With 20Mhz bandwith, under same environment, i can get more than 90Mbps'
tx throughput.
I have tested two cards from different vendors. And from packets
captured, it shows that there are lots of CRC errors, and most of the
packets are with MCS 12~15.
Any idea? Is this ar9220's 40Mhz' limits, or ath9k doesn't support this
card's full capability?
BTW:
I'm using 2.6.35 kernel, but with newer 2.6.38's compat-wireless driver,
no big change.
Best Regards,
kang haiyang

How are you measuring this?

Again, how are you measuring it?

Are you saying there's a lot of CRC errors on packets that you receive?

hi,
I measured them with Ixchariot (iperf is used also, almost same, but a
little better). The distance between AP and client is about 1 meter, and
i also tried with two different antennas.
I captured the packet between the client and ap, and saw the packets
from AP sent to client are with lots of CRC errors.
The problem is that with the same method and environment, th 20Mhz is
not so bad, and there should be no channel interference because there
are no APs and clients observed on the channel we are working (channel 36).

One more thing, i'm using one dell's workstation and insert the minipci
radio card to the machine with a minipci and pci converter. The
converter should be OK, because 9160 card is all right.

I can get 180Mbps easily now with two 9220 cards using ath9k, one card
is ap, another one is client. In Previous test, the client is using
intel 5300 card, but seems that i need to re-test it.
