hi!
can you please help me?
i have a fujitsu siemens amilo m3438g notebook with a
realtek alc880 (windows says so) soundchip.
the sound output works fine, but none of the inputs,
neither built-in mic, nor external mic.
the notebook has 2 jacks:
1 for mic and 1 for headphones shared with spdif.
i have tested different models: auto, w810 F1734,uniwill, asus,
z71v, 3stack
i could test all models, but the others couldn't be, i think, but i
will.
the output of lspci -nv:

Please elaborate what doesn't work. The loopback from a mic input to
a speaker or a hp? Or the recording from a mic?
In the case of recording, make sure that you turn on 'Capture' switch,
raise 'Capture Volume', and choose 'Mic' (or 'Front Mic') in 'Input'
source.

Try "test" model (available only when compiled with debug option).
Then you can check the assignment of input/output pins by trial and
error.

The obvious first one to try would have been "fujitsu".
Also make sure to check /sys/module/snd_hda_intel/parameters/model to
make sure it is seeing the module options.

You can get the snapshot of widget connections by saving the content
of the corresponding /proc/asound/card0/codec#* file. This is
important to write new init verb and mixer element tables.
