This patch set is doing necessary modifications to enable FEC when DP
Panel Replay is in use. Based on DP specification FEC usage is
mandatory when Panel Replay is enabled.

DP Panel Replay spec mentions FEC needs to be enabled when using Panel
Replay. Check support for FEC and disable Panel Replay if not supported.

Intel_dsc_enabled_on_link is not really about DSC being enabled on crtc. It
is telling if FEC is enabled on link. Instead of intel_dsc_enabled_on_link
check status directly from crtc->dsc.compression_enable.
Also rename intel_dsc_enabled_on_link as intel_fec_enabled_on_link.

Compression_enabled_on_link is really about FEC being enabled on link and
link_dsc_pipes about pipes where FEC is enabled. We are about to use
existing mechanism to enabled FEC for DP Panel Replay:
rename compression_enabled_on_link as fec_enabled_on_link and
link_dsc_pipes as link_fec_pipes.

DP Panel Replay needs FEC being enabled. Link computation needs to know if
FEC is about to be enabled. Due to this split intel_psr_pre_compute_config
from intel_psr_compute_config. This is a preparation to enable FEC for DP
Panel Replay.

Move everything possible from Panel Replay compute config into pre compute
config. DSC compression check and ALPM computation can't be moved as
information used for those is available only after we know link parameters.

Add _psr_pre_compute_config and move everything possible into it to unify
how Panel Replay and PSR compute config is implemented.
While changing this re-order psr_pre_compute_config a bit as well:
It is confusing to see "PSR disabled due to joiner" on a setup that doesn't
even support PSR or Panel Replay. Move checks for joiner and interlaced
mode after support for PSR/Panel Replay support is checked.

Hmm... This is a bit unclear to me.
As per commit 470b84af457e ("drm/i915/dp_mst: Recompute all MST link
CRTCs if DSC gets enabled on the link")
We wanted to do away with FEC tracking, and instead tracked DSC. FEC for
UHBR was not getting filled so it makes sense to track DSC (FEC being
mandatory for DP DSC).
From commit message for commit 470b84af457e
"...
Based on the above, to be able to determine the DSC state on both
non-UHBR and UHBR MST links, track the more generic DSC-enabled-on-link
state (instead of the FEC-enabled-on-link state) for each CRTC in
intel_link_bw_limits."
So to me it appears that we were actually concerned about DSC and not
FEC and started using intel_dsc_enabled_on_link()
(later, fec_enable was unused and removed).
Perhaps I am missing some context?

It seems I made mistake in which patch I placed this change. I will fix
this in next version. I will propably move this part to next patch.
Anyways if you looks at what crtc_state-
>dsc.compression_enabled_on_link is about you find that it is really
about FEC being enabled on a link. If any single stream within link
needs FEC then FEC needs to be enabled on that link where the stream is
in.
DSC is a feature that needs FEC being enabled. This far mixing FEC and
DSC haven't caused any problems because DSC was the only feature which
needs FEC.
Now as Panel Replay comes into picture as a another feature which also
requires FEC being used we need to differentiate FEC and DSC. Patch 2
and 3 in this set are about this. Hopefully this helps.

The reason to track the DSC enabled state on the MST link as a whole was
to determine if that enabled state is compatible with enabling Panel
Replay anywhere on the same link, according to the restrictions
indicated by the branch device via
DP_PANEL_REPLAY_CAP_CAPABILITY 0xb1
For instance, if there is only one branch device in a hub/dock, DSC will
be enabled for the branch device as a whole (via DSC_ENABLE 0x160) if
any stream is compressed, while there could be other uncompressed
streams going through the same branch device. Based on the definition of
the DP_PANEL_REPLAY_CAP_CAPABILITY register, enabling the Panel Replay
on any streams via the branch device - including the uncompressed
streams - should be done considering the branch device's enabled DSC
mode. IOW, enabling Panel Replay on an uncompressed stream through the
branch device should consider any stream in compressed mode through the
same branch device.
The above is in contrast to the case where DSC/Panel Replay of each of
the DFP connectors of the hub can be controlled via a per-DFP
peer-to-peer branch device.

This case is not that well documented in the DP specification.
Options here are (as I see them):
1.
Keep dsc_enabled_on_link() and link_dsc_pipes renamed in patch 3/7 as
they.
Add link_fec_pipes and move all FEC enabling to use that instead of
link_fec_pipes.
Check during panel replay compute config if branch device is doing
decoding and capable to decode DSC/Panel Replay stream and choose if
Panel Replay can be enabled or not.
2.
Keep changes in my patches and add one more patch to disable Panel
Replay completely for this case as it anyways seems to be not that well
documented in DP spec. Might be also that devices having this case +
Panel Replay capability doesn't even exist.
