This series fixes two issues in fs_hws found while offloading one tc
rule with its own encap and meter:

- Releases L2 to L3 tunnel reformats to the pool they come from.
- Makes a rule select its flow meter within the whole ASO bulk.

L2 to L3 tunnel reformats are now released to the el2tol3tnl pools.

The flow meter action is bound to the first ASO object of the bulk but
the rule offset only indexes the meter within its own object. A rule
past the first object runs on the wrong meter.

Hi!

This is an automated message. This series looks like a fix, but its
commit messages seem to be missing some information:

 - What hardware the change was tested on. For driver fixes please
mention the device (and if relevant firmware version) used for
testing, or say that the change was not tested on real hardware.

Please do not repost the series just to address the above. Instead,
reply to this email with the missing information, so that reviewers
can take it into account. If the series needs another revision for
other reasons, please include the information in the commit messages
then.

The evaluation is done by an LLM so it may be wrong, if you think
that is the case please reply and explain.

The actual impact is not clear to me, but given both looks broken
from the beginning and Linus pressure for smaller RCs, I'm tempted
to move this to net-next.

If you disagree please scream it loud soon!

Thanks,

Paolo

Both bugs only affect HW steering mode (opt-in). I found them on a
ConnectX-7 while offloading multiple tc rules, each with its own encap
and meter.

Patch 1 is a leak. In an add/del loop of an L2 to L3 tunnel encap, every
iteration after the first leaks a bulk of 64K entries. That is about 2
MB of host memory and 4 MB of device memory.

Patch 2 is more serious. Every tc police action past the second one runs
on the meter of another action, so its traffic gets the wrong rate...
(my use-case is mobile network where counters accuracy is truly important)

The fixes are tiny so I would prefer net. But net-next is fine with me
if you still prefer it. For our production systems we will run this
patchset.

Yevgeny, Moshe, you know better than I do how widely HW steering is
used. Feel free to amend.
