The world would indeed be a better place if Hans put simply a REQUEST not
to change the name, and a request to show the credits during installation,
were it make install, dpkg -i, rpm -Uvh, tar xzf (Is there a way of showing
text when unzipping a tarball?) or whatever.
Also if this was sufficient.
I would personally oblige to this request at any time, I even prefer it
(of course) far over showing the credits "by force."
I would also take a giant shit on the distro that would not oblige so minor
a request, as anyone who puts money in free software is doing a good thing
and not to pay respect is.. disrespectful.
Maybe if these were just requests, the community would ensure that these
requests go through? Oh, and everyone would boycott RedHat while sending
them petitions if they start messing around.
This would be the Occam's razory thing to do until someone pops out a
license that accepts "forcing" of credits. Or maybe such a license would
be rendered obsolete by the nice people in the community.
